You Will!
The future, as AT&T saw it in 1993:
I remember this ad campaign as was fascinated by it. The thought of getting directions on a screen while driving, or paying a toll without having to stop and use cash, how is that possible? How could you possibly send a fax or conduct a meeting at a beach with a laptop and not have tons of cables? But here we are! Okay, so they missed the boat on a few things too. But, who knew that little thing called the cell phone would take off and you wouldn't need to go to a phone booth. So is the future of 1993?
Ironically, while we are in the future (?) or close to what this commercial imagined, which is about 20 years later (gasp!) AT&T no longer exists to be in this future time period. AT&T aka the American Telephone & Telegraph was bought up 5 years ago by what we know as at&t today. Weird huh? Wikipedia probably could do a better job explaining how that came to be.
