Brrr…it must be October

...but wait it's still only August. Yet, we woke up to 42 degree weather this morning. The meteorologist on the radio station reported it to be 33 degrees up at Saranac Lake.  This has been one cool summer. Maybe that means it will snow earlier.

Winds of change…already?

I was in the Buffalo area this past weekend for a wedding.  Michele was in the wedding party, so I was there taking photos during rehearsal and wandering around a little on my own. The wedding was outdoors at a day camp where the bride and groom once worked when in grade school. As the wedding party was learning the plan for the ceremony, trees in the background caught my eye.

Upon closer inspection...the trees are not completely green. This isn't just one tree. There were a number of trees throughout the area that are beginning to show signs they don't normally start doing until mid September: (click on image for close up)

The meteorologist at the radio station I work at has mentioned reports of trees lightly changing colors because of the cool weather we have been having this summer and particularly cool at night. How crazy?!

Garden Update

It's been a month, so lets check on the small garden that Michele and I put together this summer:

The tomato plants are looking great. There are numerous tomatoes as you can see. Though, they're all green. It's August and I think we have a lot of unripe tomatoes because most of this summer has been rainy and gray.  There hasn't been too much sun time. In any case, everything is looking healthy and I'm hopeful to enjoy a tomato soon!

It’s August?

It's August? Will someone please let-go of the fast forward button on 2009. I can't believe we're already a few days into August.

Annual August Story

The hustle and bustle has returned to Oswego. In other words, students are back.  I was doing some work at the office on Sunday at about 10:45a.  As I went on to campus, I noticed lines of cars filled with clothes, tvs, blankets, books, etc.  Ah yes, it just got a little more crowded in Oswego.   I can't believe summer is unofficially over already! Where did it go?
