Garden Update [final]

There is no picture this time.  I'm not sure if I'm confused, or my tomato plants were.  Many tomatoes grown in the garden this year never ripened. I picked most of them anyway because it's been getting down to the upper 30s at night.  The actual plants seem to be withering away, yet many green and partially red tomatoes exist. I picked them because it seems like they aren't going to be growing anymore.  Now what to do with all these semi ripe tomatoes?

Garden Update

It's been a month, so lets check on the small garden that Michele and I put together this summer:

The tomato plants are looking great. There are numerous tomatoes as you can see. Though, they're all green. It's August and I think we have a lot of unripe tomatoes because most of this summer has been rainy and gray.  There hasn't been too much sun time. In any case, everything is looking healthy and I'm hopeful to enjoy a tomato soon!

Oh Astoria

Just before making our trek back to Oswego, we stopped by Queens for a brief visit. It gave our friend Jen an opportunity to show off her garden and backyard:

Attempt at Gardening

The house we're renting has such a large backyard. A patch of it was used by the landlord as a garden. Last year tried two cherry tomato plants. Despite the efforts of deer and other creatures, we were able to get a few tomatoes from the plant.   This year we've expanded ever so slightly with about 6 tomato plants, 4 summer squash plants, 1 pumpkin plant, and some assorted herbs.  We'll see what happens. We planted everything earlier this week.

Tomato Update

If you look hard enough, you can see little sprouts popping out of the soil:
