Preservation Hall Benefit
Now available on iTunes: An Album to Benefit Preservation Hall & The Preservation Hall Music Outreach Program (Deluxe Version) by Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Sounds like fun. It's jazz mixed with some contemporary artists. The purchase goes to the Preservation Hall outreach program in New Orleans.

iPod Touch Update is good
Today's entry is entirely about the new version of iPhone and iPod Touch software. I was waiting to update the software on Friday because I'm a geek. By Saturday, Apple seemed to get their servers in order. I upgraded my iPod touch to the newer software system and downloaded these applications:
So that's Instant Messanger, Facebook, New York Times Reader, iTunes Remote, Sports Tap, and Twitterific
In my opinion, the facebook and IM applications are lousy. The facebook website is much more straightforward than the application. The New York Times application is nice because stories are formatted to the screen size for easier reading, but it takes forever to update.
By far the coolest application has been the iTunes remote. It allows you to control your computer's iTunes via wifi. A useful feature if you listen to music from your computer in a different room. The Twitterific app is also nice, it's Twitter ...so if you're in to that scene, then you might like it. I'm just now getting into Twitter, and not quite clear on it's usefulness.
I'm still on the look out for other great programs. I'm finding that I'm using my iPod more as a PDA instead of...well...an iPod.

Upgrade Pending…
This is as close as I get to upgrading my iPod. Apple appears to be having some technical difficulties. After I click "Learn More" it informs me the link actually doesn't exist.
